GEOKRAK has been involved in the coal bed methane exploration projects in Poland and France for more than ten years. Among our clients were the two major international CBM operators, Amoco and Texaco.
Based on our long experience we provide the following services at the well site:

• Gas content determination of coal beds:
  • Collection and preparation of cores and drill cuttings for testing
  • Field desorption experiments of drill cores and cuttings from coal seams using the USBM testing methodology
  • Computation of gas content and diffusivity of coal beds based on desorption experiments
  • Evaluation and final reports of gas content determination results
  • State-of the-art equipment for desorption experiments including aluminium canisters of various sizes as well as configurations of desorption equipment required for the volumetric measurement of gas
• Well site geology services of coal bed methane wells:
  • Preparation of litho-section charts and identification of coal seams
  • Supervision of mud logging services while drilling
  • Selection of core intervals and coal samples for testing
  • Witnessing/supervising of well tests and wire line logging
  • Final well report
• Mud logging services of coal bed methane wells:
  • Continuous measurement of drilling parameters in a similar way to oil and gas drilling but using the equipment configuration tailored to the customer's needs with cost saving requirements
  • Preparation of final mud logging reports and, if requested by the customer, the analysis and interpretation of detected hydrocarbon data as supplementary gas content measurements
• Geological Work Program for Coal bed Methane Exploration:
  • Preparation of CBM geological work schedule in compliance with the Polish Geological and Mining Law regulations.
